Sri Rama Co-Op Bank Ltd was established on the basic principle of Co-Operative slogan “One for all - All for one “ in the year 1953. This was also to encourage banking needs of lower and middle class people of savings habit and to create funds for providing financial aid facilities to deserving members and to freed them from the clutches of private money lenders thrown open to all communities. At present deposit 109.87 crores loans 84.54 crores and total business 132.12 crores it has grown up to more than 12,000 Account holders and totally Two branches which are mainly located with in Bangalore city.
Sri Rama Co-Op Bank Ltd, a leading Urban Co operative Bank in Bangalore was founded by Sri. Siddavanahalli Krishna Sharmaji noted Gandhian, freedom fighter, journalist a social worker and more thean all a great humanist and others Co-operators like Dr H Sreenivasaiah, with prime object of encouraging thrift and savings habit among the public and to freed the members from the clutches of private money lenders. The bank believes in consumer and poor oriented approach.
The bank began with 294 members, mobilised Share capital of Rs.13,000/- from them and also mobilized Deposits advances and disbursed dividend from the very 1st year of its founding.. Today the total business of the bank has crossed Rs. 100.00 crores Bank also got the award from Mysore Government as the best cooperative bank in the state in the year 1984.
The Bank is functioning on the sound principles of co-operation and successfully completed more than 50 years of banking service. The bank is continuously making profit since from the date of its inception and disbursing dividend to its members and 'A' Grade Audit classification.
